The Nokia N96 is pretty much just a remake of the N95 cellular phone that was released a while back. Many of the same features are included, and the design even looks very similar.
Right off the bat, this sounds very negative - most people think that the same features would makes it boring. However, overall, the phone is great, and a lot of that is due to the fact that Nokia has had the time to go through all the features and solidify them.
The Nokia N95 was plagued with errors and seemed to be rushed - while this new N96 model seems very well designed and well thought of.
In fact, most of the returning features, although the same, are highly improved. For one thing, the phone seems a lot more durable. The sliding screen no longer seems fragile, and it is much easier to use as well; it's nice no longer to have to fight with the screen to get it open.
The software and applications on the phone load very fast, so it seems to have had at least some minor internal upgrades.
The screen is 2.8 inches, and has a high quality color display, so you can watch video a lot more clearly than you can on the typical cell phone.
The built in camera is a 5 megapixel camera, which is really exceptional when it comes to a cell phone - that's something you would expect to see in a mid-range digital camera.
On the negative side, the battery life isn't all that great. If you actually use your phone a decent amount each day, you'll probably have to end up charging it each night when you go to bed to avoid running out of battery power during the day.
Also, if you own the N95 and are pleased with it, you may find this to be a little lacking in new features, as most of the features are just improved a little bit.
Other than that, the phone seems to be a great buy and has all the features you'd expect in a cell phone plus many more. It's easy to use, it works great, and it looks great. What more could you ask for?
