It was not too long ago that the P168 reigned supreme in the clone world and most of the emails that came through my iPhone clone blogs / reviews asked me questions about the P168's features, usability, or specs. There's no question that these phones are popular because they offer so much for so little. You can web browse, play MP3s / MP4s, use Bluetooth, take photos and video, and listen to the radio for less than $100.
Today though, more and more of the emails, questions, and comments that I get are about the i9 iclone. And, many want to confirm that this phone can in fact support up to 8GB (it can). But, there is so much more to love about the i9. In this article, I'll review why I think this is a great phone.
Both Sims Working, And On line At One Time: With the older clones, there was one main sim and sort of a support sim. You would have to switch back and forth between them, but you don't have to with this phone. Both of them can be on line at once. Most people use this to have separate data and talk plans, but you don't have to do this. This phone will work fine if you only want to use one.
Swing Or Shake To The Music: The old P168 did not have what is called shake control, which means you don't have to use your fingers or scroll when you want to change music, videos or media. You just shake the phone instead. The i9 does have this feature, (which is why a lot of people call it the new or upgraded HiPhone i32, which was one of the first clones to offer this feature.)
Faster, Sleeker, And Smaller: The old clones typically held up to 2GB. As stated previously, this one can hold up to 8. But, this phone is also smaller and sleeker than previous models. (There were a few who steered clear of the early clones because they were "fat" or wide.) This one weighs less than 100 grams (95 to be exact) and will fit in a small pocket.
Java 2.0: The i 9 supports third party apps., software, and games via Java 2.0. The early replicas did not offer this, so you were much more limited. Probably the most common uses for this is the Microsoft software, like Outlook, Word, and Excel, but SKYPE is popular too. And, gaming downloads are also plentiful.
Four GSM Bands (Quad Band): The early modes were tri band phones, which left some people out. This mobile is quad band. It works on all GSM carriers that use sim cards. You just insert the sim and you're good to go.
A Better Camera: Most clones have a 1.3 mega pixel camera. This one has a 2.0 MP camera, which is a bit of an improvement, if this is important to you.
Price: In terms of cost, the i9 doesn't cost much more than the older clones. You'll pay more for a phone with 8GB of memory included, but the average cost is still somewhere in the low $100 range, and it, like all of the replicas, is contract free.
